Our history

1990

Created in 1990 under the name Europstat by Laurent Piepszownik, Umanis specializes from its creation in statistical data analysis, then quickly in business intelligence.

1993

In 1993, the company launched its clinical research activity (CRO) and developed its core historical expertise: data processing.

1994

From 1994 to 1998, the company experienced rapid growth, launched new activities (web applications, customer relationship management) and completed its IPO.

1999

Still under the name Europstat, Umanis then established itself in 5 countries (Poland, Italy, Morocco, Germany, etc.) and reached 300 employees by beginning 1999. That same year the company bought Arche, a French database expert company. In 2000Europstat diversified, expanding into digital communication with the acquisition of the Hémisphère Droit agency from the Havas group, as well as the Winch agency, and Sport O'FM radio.

2000

In 2000, Europstat changes its name and becomes Umanis. The company created a new subsidiary in January 2000, Call One (which would later become Umanis Managed Services) and covered all the links of the customer relationship value chain. By end 2003, Umanis employed 900 employees.

2007

In 2007, Umanis decided to refocus on its historical business lines (data processing, business intelligence, customer relationship management and digital) and opened its first service center in Tours.

2011

From 2011 to 2015, Umanis continued to grow at an organic growth rate of around 8% per year. The company opened new branches across the country to complete its geographic network and offer more and better local services. A Nearshore Service Center opened in Casablanca. Umanis acquired the Digital Services Company Aura Group, an expert in the banking / insurance, energy and manufacturing sectors, then, to complete its offer, it acquired Hélice, a Digital Services Company specialized in production and infrastructure engineering.

 

2016

In 2016, Umanis continued to strengthen its expertise in data processing, in particular through new acquisitions of companies, such as the Digital Services Company Cella. Hélice merged with Umanis and the brands got standardized: the CRO activity became Umanis Life Science, the Call One subsidiary became Umanis Managed Services.

2017

In 2017, Umanis acquired the company Primlog in order to strengthen its expertise in the insurance business.

2018

In 2018, Umanis set a new course with its 2022 Expansion strategic plan. Umanis is aiming to reach a new level in terms of size by targeting a 400 M € revenue by 2022 and integrate the TOP 15 Digital Services Companies in France. Objective: cover nearly all its customers' expectations, be it in Big Data & IA, Infra & Cloud, Digital Experience, the integration of business solutions such as HRIS or CRM and BPO. Umanis acquired the business lines of the CMS Group, a French Digital Services Company based mainly in the Paris region and in the south-east of France.

2019

During the 2019 financial year, Umanis carried out 4 external growth operations: Contact Consulting, a management and information systems consulting company, Océane Consulting Nord, a Digital Services Company that allowed to double the business scope in the North of France, the consulting firm Neonn, specialized in monitoring financial performances of large groups, and Ebiznext, a consulting firm specialized in information systems architecture and digital strategy. Umanis’s 2019 revenue stood at € 237m.
